The Madison Square Park Music 2012 Oval lawn series finishes this evening with soul/R&B vocals from Bettye LaVette. Tonight’s show is from from 7pm-8:30pm.

It’s part of a FREE music series hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy and it takes place on the Oval Lawn in Madison Square Park on Wednesday evenings in the summer.

If you haven’t been to one of these yet, it’s great to just bring a blanket and some food (hit up the Fatty stand or grab some Shake Shack or bread, meats and cheese from Eataly) and have dinner and drinks on the lawn with music in the background.

This is the 10th season of the program! We posted the full calendar at www.madparknews.com/art_and_music/madison-square-park-music-calendar-2012/.

As usual, Fatty Crew will be selling Ribs, Fatty Wedges, beer and more in the park from 12-8:30pm.

Here is a video of Bettye LaVette playing The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me”:

And here again with Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here”:
