Timed with the CMJ 2011 music festival which starts in New York City on Wednesday October 19th, there will be an incredible number of live performances right in our neighborhood at the Ace Hotel (20 West 29th Street). It’s hosted by legendary Seattle public radio station KEXP, which is always at the forefront of discovering new great independent music.

According to the KEXP site, ‘All performances are free and open to the public. Please note that space is limited — first come, first served.’ Not sure if they will stream the shows live, but they seem to always play them eventually. Personally I get the KEXP podcast through itunes, but you can also stream from the website.

Here is the schedule:

10:30am EDT – Zola Jesus
12:30pm EDT – We Are Augustines
2:30pm EDT – Portugal, the Man
4:30pm EDT – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
