There is a new exhibit up at the StandPipe Gallery (150 W. 25th St.) in the Flatiron called “Fresh Paint from Bushwick”, featuring as expected, painters from Bushwick in Brooklyn.

Artists include Josette Urso, Adam Simon, Kerry Law, Rachel LaBine, Halsey Hathaway, Holly Coulis, and Gina Beavers. Preview the show at standpipegallery.com/current/exhibition-photos.

From the curator’s statement: “As a creative community, the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn has exploded over the past ten years“, stated Deborah Brown, Curator. “The artists in “Fresh Paint from Bushwick” work in a variety of ways—surrealism, painterly abstraction, minimal abstraction, and realism. While they share affinities with broader currents in the history of painting, each artist has a fresh, individual voice.

The exhibit will run until September 2nd and was named by Time Out Magazine as one of the ’15 best things to do this week’. Tuesday-Friday from 11am-5pm.
