Exterior construction for the new condo building at 241 5th Avenue between 27th and 28th street looks to be nearly complete, on track to be done ahead of any winter weather. We took this photo today of the 20-story new condo development. We hear that the project is owned by Victor Homes, ODA is the architect on the project, and Triton is doing the construction.

The building is one block north of Madison Square Park, which has seen a surge in neighborhood improvements in the last 10 years.

Originally it was going to become a hotel, but the Wall Street Journal reported last year that plans had changed to turn the lot into a condo building. The property was reported to have been bought in June from a distressed situation by Victor Homes, a New Jersey-based development and construction company. Before demolition, the building was home to the 5th Avenue Bazaar.
