There were rumors in mid-2012 that Credit Suisse would be leaving the neighborhood, but a Bloomberg News report says they will stay at 11 Madison Avenue adjacent to Madison Square Park. As part of the deal, the approximately 1.2million square feet of space on floors 1-11 will reportedly undergo renovations this year.
“This project represents a significant investment in our Americas headquarters and demonstrates our commitment to providing staff with a modern, effective working environment,” stated Rob Shafir, Credit Suisse’s CEO for the Americas.
In 2013, Sony announced that they will move their US headquarter to the same building.
Credit Suisse was one of the first big companies to take a chance on this neighborhood back in 1997 when Madison Square Park was in disrepair and has done a lot to support the park and the neighborhood.Credit Suisse US headquarters to stay at 11 Madison Avenue,
