[UPDATE 4/19: Just went over and it’s fairly lively, with lots of booths and many startups in hiring mode. They are also not checking names at the door, so you just go and fill out a name tag and you are in. Real-time photo on the right.]

Today (April 19th 2012), over 200 startups will gather at the Lexington Armory in the Flatiron to showcase their products as part of NY Tech Day. The expo runs from 10am-4pm and gives you a chance to see tons of demos from new startups, mingle with the entrepreneurs, and hey, maybe even get a new job! Startups, investors, press, and end users are all likely to be there. There will be an awards ceremony from 6-8pm that same day to honor a few of the more interesting startups.

We want to create an event that benefits startups of all sizes and gives them the opportunity to directly interact with the community with a focus on their individual needs — they can demo a new product, recruit for open positions, or just say hello to the tech community. The result has transformed NY Tech Day into a ‘psuedo-science fair’ for startups,” said John Petersen, cofounder of NY Tech Day.

It’s FREE to attend and right here in the neighborhood. Space is limited [UPDATE 4/18: Wait list only now] so register today at https://nytechday.com/attendee_registrations/new.
