Recycle all of your eWaste (old computer equipment, phones, dvd players, etc) this Saturday at Tekserve

This Saturday at Tekserve (119 West 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenue) they are having an eWaste Recycling Event, where you can safely recycle old electronic equipment such as computers, printers, monitors, cell phones, radios, DVD players and more to Tekserve this Saturday, January 21st, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Everyone who recycles will receive a “Green Karma” Coupon worth between $5 and $500 off any products or services from Tekserve as well as an entry into a raffle to win a new MacBook Air.

We know you have electronic junk sitting around your home or office. bring it by Tekserve so that it can be safely recycled rather than dumped into landfill or incinerators where it could pollute land, water, and air.

Massive pet adoption event this weekend at Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th Street

This weekend at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue) there will be hundreds of dogs and cats that need a home. Come down and take a look and get one of the best holiday gifts you can, while saving an animal.

It’s the Whiskers in Wonderland holiday pet adoption event (dogs, cats and more), hosted at the Metropolitan Pavilion by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. There are 26 participating shelters and rescue groups bringing all kinds of dogs and cats for adoption.

Stop by from Noon-6pm either day. Admission is free! The Madison Square Park holiday tree is up with lights

The Madison Square Park holiday tree is now up with lights and all for the season. Many claim that Madison Square Park was the site of the first community holiday tree. Here is this year’s version. While the tree is technically non-denominational, note that there is also a large Menorah in the park right now as well.
