Join the Tekserve team or donate to the AIDS Walk New York this Sunday, May 19th

tekserve aids walk 2013Local Apple specialists Tekserve (store at 119 West 23rd Street, between 6th and 7th Avenue) are helping to raise money for the GMHC and 40 other AIDS service organizations through a fundraising drive and a team participating in the official AIDS Walk New York this Sunday, May 19th.

Tekserve’s goal is to reach $10,000 in donations and 40 team members (they currently have 31, and anyone can join them).

The 10km walk (6.2 miles) takes place on Sunday in Central Park and starts with sign-in at 8:30am, aerobic warm-up at 9am, opening ceremony at 9:15am, and then the walk begins at 10am.

Attend the official release party at Tekserve for the new Wacom Cintiq 13HD!

Tekserve (119 West 23rd Street, between 6th and 7th Avenue) is hosting an official release party for the new Wacom Cintiq 13HD on May 7th at 7pm and you can attend! Be one of the first to check out the breathtaking tablet for creative designers and hear presentations from Joe Quesada (CCO of Marvel Entertainment) and Alex Trochut (Renowned AIGA designer). You will even be able to demo the tablets yourself after the presentations. Food and drinks will be served.

Saturday singles mixer and talk on First Date Mistakes & The Language of Online Dating Profiles

tekserve make love happenSaturday, February 9th there is a singles mixer with some fun talks by dating experts called “First Date Mistakes & The Language of Online Dating Profiles: Dating in the Digital Age” at Tekserve (119 West 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenue). Your ticket includes beer, wine, and some enlightening discussions on what works, and doesn’t, in the digital dating world.

In the first discussion, expert Bentely McBentelson is going to show the results of analysis of various dating profiles on OKCupid, using “the same technology used to gauge reactions to political debates on CNN”. In a second talk, Jazmin Hupp will cover “common mistakes made by online daters including the first message, where to meet, and how to act on your first date to ensure you’ll get to a second one”.

Before and after the digital dating discussions they will serve up beer and wine and give all of you singles a chance to talk. This event is a great opportunity to meet someone outside of your normal social routine, plus you get the cost of the ticket back in the form of a store credit at Tekserve!
