Sometimes when we hear a restaurant or club is shutting down temporarily for renovations we know that the place is on death's door, scrambling for capital or lease re-negotiations. But not Jay Z's 40/40 Club (6 West 25th Street). They closed 40/40 last summer and put a reported $10 million into renovating the space.

The private opening party was last night and featured an array of guests from Warren Buffet to Spike Lee.

The renovations look grand, from the over-sized wood doors to the lavish chandeliers, sofas, lounged-out stadium style tiered seating, and state of the art flat screens.

It all opens to the public tonight at 9pm. Take a virtual tour of the lavish space at http://the4040club.com/nyc/virtual-tour/.
