If you are looking for a good date place near Madison Square Park, walk west to Bar Veloce (176 7th Avenue at 21st street).
Bar Veloce is a modern Italian wine bar with a good vibe, plenty of seats at the bar for two and a handful of tables. It’s lively enough to feel some of the typical New York City energy, but you can easily have a conversation without straining your voice/ears. Average age is 30-40.
Bar Veloce serves a nice selection of red and white Italian wines ranging mostly from $8-12 a glass and they also have paninis, bruschette, and other small plates. A selection of Italian liquori and grappa are also available.
