The latest restaurant from Chef Jesse Schenker (Recette) is now open in the Flatiron. The Gander (15 West 18th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues) serves New American food in a relaxed setting.
Starters include items like Crispy Calamari (w/Snap Peas, Radish, Grapes, Cashews, Ranch), Iceberg Lettuce (w/Bacon, Red Onion, Parmesan, White Anchovy Dressing), Sea Trout Tartare, and Oyster Chowder (Potatoes, Bacon, Celery, Oyster Crackers). They also serve four pasta dishes, and entrees include Arctic Char (w/Coco Bean, Chorizo, Leeks, Beurre Rouge), Rotisserie Chicken (w/Broccoli, Farro, Chicken Vinaigrette), and a Dry Aged Sirloin (Garlic, Hen of the Woods).
