Coming Soon: Birch Coffee at the Gershwin Hotel
St
umptown is not the only new coffee shop opening up north of Madison Square Park.
Birch Coffee is under construction and looking at an opening at the Gershwin Hotel (7 East 27th Street) some time this fall.
They chronicle the daily build out on their blog at http://www.birchcoffee.com/blog.php. It’s an interesting look at what it takes to get cafe going in New York City.
Early indications suggest a green philosophy, with Rainforest Alliance coffees and locally farmed food/produce. Birch Coffee will also have a menu of sandwiches and salads.
While they are a bit more under the radar than the media darling Stumptown, MadParkNews.com will try to get more info on their coffee and their perspective on opening up in the area.
More to come as we get it…
