We looked through Yelp to find the highest rated Indian restaurant that would deliver to the Madison Square Park area. Tamarind came up, but as good as that is, we were looking for a place that was a little less expensive without sacrificing quality. We have a lot of Indian food restaurants in the area northwest of Madison Square Park, and most of them are very good, but Dhaba (108 Lexington Ave between 27th St & 28th St) was at the top of the list, with a solid 4-star rating from a whopping (and statistically significant) 202 reviews. (shill-proof!)

Technically it’s Punjabi cuisine, and you are likely to find most of your traditional favorites there. You can order through SeamlessWeb, and even check a box for each dish whether you want it mild, medium or spicy. We went for spicy given that so many places seem to under-spice it if they don’t think you can handle it. It was perfectly spiced. We ordered Saag Paneer (paneer cheese with spicy pureed spinach $13) and even though it is cliche, the chicken Tikka Masala (nice breast meat chicken $16) , plus some just made Garlic Naan, and Boondi Raita. The prices are still way above many Indian restaurants, but the portions are large and the quality is worth it.

Here is the Dhaba menu (and a NY Times write-up from last year). They even have a whole menu section modeled after the curry houses you find all over London. People also seem to rave about the lunch buffet…Indian food delivery from Dhaba restaurant northwest of Madison Square Park, 1.0 out of 5 based on 1 rating
