The Doughnut Plant has opened its second New York City storefront a couple blocks west of Madison Square Park in the retail space below the old Chelsea Hotel (220 W 23rd St between 7th & 8th Avenue). The original location is on the Lower East Side (379 Grand Street), plus doughnuts have been sold through Dean & Deluca, Zabars, Citarella, and Joes Art of Coffee.

Doughnut Plant is known for its creative spin on doughnuts, including the Peanut Butter & Jelly (currently with peanut butter glaze and blackberry jelly fill), the Creme Brulee, the Chocolate Valrhona, and the Vanilla Bean. They state that none have trans fats or artificial flavors, even using fresh seasonal fruit for glazes.  Some doughnuts will be made on location, but the bulk of them will be made at the Lower East Side location. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from early morning until early evening.
