eataly vinoWe get word from Crain’s that Eataly’s Wine Shop (200 Fifth Avenue at 23rd Street) will be forced to close down for 6 months and pay a half a million dollar fine as part of a settlement with the New York State Liquor Authority.

Crain’s reports that the owners, including Mario Batali and Lidia and Joe Bastianich were allegedly “accused of running afoul of state liquor laws prohibiting licensees from owning wine stores and wine importing or manufacturing businesses”.
