Sometimes overlooked as a brunch spot in favor of its dinner menu, Tom Colicchio’s more casual Craftbar restaurant (900 Broadway; 212-461-4300) offers a menu of brunch favorites prepared creatively the highest quality ingredients in a more refined interpretation than the typical brunch spot.
See the photos in this post of the Eggs Benedict, the Corned Beef Hash, and the Blueberry Scones and you will immediately note these are contemporary derivatives of the traditional preparations.
While flavorful, none of the dishes were too heavy, so you can avoid any sort of post-brunch food coma.
And just be safe, get your caffeine fix with the iced coffee which was notably good, not watered down and almost with a hint of chicory (unconfirmed).
Other items on the menu include Irish Oatmeal with brown sugar and buttermilk, Shrimp and Grits, Brioche Pain Perdu, and the Craftbar Breakfast Sandwich with bacon, tomato & eggs any style.
Here is the full Craftbar menu.
