Three newcomers to the Madison Square Park area had stands at the Flatiron Chefs event and MadParkNews.com did some investigating as to when they might open their respective doors in the area. Here’s the latest:

flatiron chefs Breslin (www.thebreslin.com): Coming “late summer 2009” in the Ace Hotel on 29th street. What did they serve at the event? pork belly sandwich with pickled onions and crispy pork skin.

SD26 (www.sd26ny.com): The transplanted San Domenico restaurant will open its doors “in September” at 19 East 26th street. What did they serve at the event? Porchetta (rosemary scented roasted pork served on fresh country bread).

Stumptown Coffee (www.stumptowncoffee.com): Shooting for a “September 1st open” in the Ace Hotel on 29th street. What did they serve at the event? A selection of hot espresso and coffee drinks made on location, plus iced coffee.
