There is a new restaurant and beer hall called Flatiron Hall now open at 38 West 26th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue) just west of Madison Square Park. It’s owned Jon Bloostein, the guy behind Heartland Brewery and serves a full menu for lunch and dinner (plus a brunch we think).
The appetizers looks pretty creative, with items like Chicken Tikka Masala wontons, Pastrami Reuben Spring Rolls, and Crispy Tater Tots (with bacon, aged cheddar, and chives) – certainly the kind of bold, rich flavors that go well with a brew. The entrees are a bit more classic in nature – a Flatiron Burger, Caesar Salad, Steak Frites, Fish and Chips, and a Salmon Citrus Salad among other dishes.
Overall it looks and feels much less like a tourist chain than it’s sibling Heartland Brewery (which has spots at the Empire State Building, Times Square, Midtown, and Union Square). We have not been by to try it, but will let you know if we do. Walk in or call 212-654-5622 for more information.
