One of our favorites at every Madison Square Eats is the Pressed Chicken Sandwich from the ilili stand. It’s made right there with pulled chicken, pickles, and a flavorful garlic whip and when we inquired it turns out it’s a childhood favorite of the owner. The pickles and garlic whip are a great flavor combo.

Also great are the Phoenician Fries, made on demand and tossed with sumac, salt, and parsley, with a spicy dipping sauce. Excellent. The Chicken shawarma is very good as well. On hot days, grab a green lemonade, which is a refreshing mix of ginger, cucumber and sugar.

The menu also includes roasted lamb shawarma, falafel Beiruti, kafta arayess, manushe, beer, wine, and baklava.

The restaurant ilili is located at 236 5th Avenue, just north of Madison Square Park, but always has also been a part of the Madison Square Eats marketplace.

The event is hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy and serves food daily from 11am to 9pm until October 21st in the Worth Square area just west of Madison Square Park (@ 24th and 5th Avenue).
