The new entrance

[UPDATE: SEE  THIS IS FOR THURSDAY!!!] Millesime restaurant (92 Madison Avenue at 29th Street in the Carlton hotel) has always been a bit hard to find. You had to go down stairs or through the hotel to get in. But not any more. They have opened the original doors to the 1904 building and it leads right into the restaurant from 29th Street. AND to celebrate they are offering a $1.25 3 course prix-fixe menu Thursday at lunch (11:30am-2pm) and dinner (5:30pm-8pm). You heard that right – he 1904 price of $1.25.

The $1.25 menu includes an oyster (singular) Rockefeller, a choice of chicken Marengo or lamb stew with mint sauce, and an ice cream sundae. Soft drinks, coffee and tea will be 25 cents.

No reservations will be taken, so it’s first come first served!

The Millesime kitchen serves up French inspired seafood dishes and is headed by Chef Laurent Manrique, the former executive chef at San Francisco’s Aqua restaurant (even receiving 2 Michelin stars in 2006-2008).
