Chef Jason Weiner of Almond Restaurant (12 East 22nd Street) wrote in to let us know that they will be participating in the first annual Edible Magazine “Eat – Drink – Local Week” (September 27th-October 4th), a week to recognize local ‘farmers, artisans, and chefs’.

For its part, Almond will be preparing dishes using LynnHaven Goat (Pine Bush, NY) and offering 15% off New York State craft beers for the week. Here’s a look at the featured items:

  • “Greek Salad” with Goat Feta, Local Red & Yellow Beefsteaks, Pickled Onions  $12
  • Tomato Soup with Goat Ricotta Crostini and Unfiltered Sicilian Olive Oil  $12
  • Whole Roasted Goat with Goat Ricotta Gnocchi & North Fork Baby Root Vegetables  $27
Other participating restaurants from the area include, craft, craftbar, Gramercy Tavern, I Trulli, Pure, & Resto.
In related ‘news’, rumor has it that all three Clintons were spotted at Almond Saturday night.
