Lots of interesting things happening in Nomad these days, from the boutique hotels to the new residential projects and restaurants. We noticed an application for a new on-premises liquor license going before CB5 in a space in the midst of the wholesale shops on 28th Street (but situated strategically just a half block from the Nomad Hotel and a block from the Ace Hotel).
They are using the name Pergola and they picked a pretty amazing space at 36 West 28 Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue) that was clearly from the neighborhood’s time as a flower district. It has all-window frontage and a huge skylight across the top. Not sure if they are going for a restaurant or a bar but this has potential to be a beacon in the neighborhood among the sweatshirt, luggage, and perfume wholesalers. (Know something about this?
