On Saturday night, we walked by a new restaurant in the Flatiron called Prandial located at 31 West 21st Street (between 5th and 6th Avenue). They opened this month and are currently in ‘preview’ mode, but you can make reservations on Opentable (www.opentable.com/prandial) or by phone (212-510-8722).

The menu consists of new American fare by French native Chef Pierre Rougey, who was an instructor at the French Culinary Institute of NYC, Chef/Owner of Emerson’s Restaurant in Long Island, and Executive Chef of Raoul’s and La Tour Bistro. Dishes include Avocado & crab salad, Grilled octopus, Short ribs, Olive oil poached salmon, Duck two ways and more. Plus we see a Ribeye au Poivre on there, and we wonder how it compares to the Steak au poivre that one of his earlier stops as chef, Raoul’s, is famous for. Here is the full menu: http://prandialnyc.com/#menu-item-201

We look forward to trying Prandial and will let you know more when we do!
