Short-lived Flatiron restaurant Prandial (31 West 21st Street between 5th and 6th Avenue) will close this week, and re-open as 1200 Miles as early as mid-September reports a source. 1200 Miles will feature casual American dishes as well as French and North African tajines.

From what we hear, Chef Pierre Rougey will stay on. Chef Rougey was formerly an instructor at the French Culinary Institute of NYC, Chef/Owner of Emerson’s Restaurant in Long Island, and Executive Chef of Raoul’s and La Tour Bistro.

We never got in to try Prandial, which opened just over a year ago, but we hope 1200 Miles is a success.
