Eataly (200 5th Avenue) opened up a new, lunch-only restaurant called Pranzo on Monday April 30th. Pranzo will serve a 2-course prix fixe for $25, with dessert available for an extra $7. The new restaurant will be affiliated with the Chef Lidia Bastianich’s La Scuola di Eataly and basically use that classroom space for dining when class is not in session.

The menu will change to reflect the different cuisines of Italy, and the current menu features choice of a mixed salad (Salad of Escarole, Fennel, Roasted Asparagus, Borlotti Beans and Walnuts), soup (Farro and Lentil Soup with Spicy Fried Chickpeas and Crispy Pancetta) or chicken liver crostini as well as a choice of a pasta (Housemade Spaghetti with Black Truffle Butter and Toasted Almonds), meat (Roasted Pork Loin from Bensmiller Farm with Sautéed Chicory, Guanciale and Roasted Grapes), or fish (Local Market Fish, Pan Seared with Roasted Fennel and Braised Porcini Mushrooms).
