(11:48am) We just walked by the Millesime $1.25 prix fixe and there is a line around the corner to get in with about 50 people in line. (See photo below)

If you have not been following, Millesime restaurant (92 Madison Avenue at 29th Street in the Carlton hotel) has opened the original doors from the 1904 building  to allow easier access and to celebrate they are offering a $1.25 3 course prix-fixe menu Thursday at lunch (11:30am-2pm) and dinner (5:30pm-8pm). You heard that right – the 1904 price of $1.25.

The $1.25 menu includes an oyster (singular) Rockefeller, a choice of chicken Marengo or lamb stew with mint sauce, and an ice cream sundae. Soft drinks, coffee and tea will be 25 cents.

No reservations will be taken, so it’s first come first served! The Millesime kitchen serves up French inspired seafood dishes and is headed by Chef Laurent Manrique, the former executive chef at San Francisco’s Aqua restaurant (even receiving 2 Michelin stars in 2006-2008).
