Shake Shack recently opened its 15th location in The United States, requiring it to post its nutritional information with its menus. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but now when you go to order that Double SmokeShack (850 calories, 54 grams of fat) , Cheese Fries (685 calories, 41 grams of fat) and a Chocolate Shake (740 calories, 46 grams of fat), you have just blown through your likely daily calorie limit with a 2275 calorie and 141 grams of fat. Maybe we aren’t all so indulgent, but it does show how quickly the calories can add up.

Some safe bets? The Bird Dog comes in at 250 calories and 9 grams of fat, and a chocolate custard will run you 260 calories and 16 grams of fat. Not too bad. The single ShackBurger won’t blow your nutritional limits either at 490 calories and 29 grams of fat. But keep an eye on the sodium and cholesterol levels as well for some of these items.
