The New York Times reports that Madison Square Park pioneer restaurant Tabla (11 Madison Avenue) will be closing on December 30th. Tabla, part of Danny Meyer’s family of restaurants, had a hard time staying full (280 seats) through the recent economic downturn and is the the first Meyer restaurant to have to close.

“Mr. Meyer said they are keeping the restaurant open until the end of the year so the staff of 30 in the kitchen and 90 in the dining rooms has time to find other positions, and so fans have a chance for “a last look.” (via NY Times)
