We all already knew Tamarind (43 East 22nd street) was great, but they have recently expanded to Tribeca and Sam Sifton of the NY Times gives it a solid review.

A quote from Sifton: “…it is shaping up to be the best thing to happen to Indian food since Hemant Mathur and Suvir Saran opened Devi in 2004.

If you have not been to the original Tamarind in the Flatiron, it’s definitely worth trying for an authentic and refined high-end Indian meal.
