A late addition to the Madison Square Mark’t food lineup, Tanjore serves up combo plates of Indian food (both a vegetarian version and a non-veggie plate). It’s unclear if Tanjore has a restaurant in the city, and quick Google search doesn’t reveal much (anyone know?).

We tried the non-vegetarian combination which includes saag paneer (spinach with cheese), chana masala (chickpeas), and chicken tikka masala over rice for $9. It’s a huge portion of food and enough spice to it to not make you feel like you are getting some completely Americanized ‘watered down’ version of Indian food.

In short, it’s good stuff.

Madison Square Mark’t is currently open daily through October 23rd with popup shops and a food square from 11am-8pm on the west side of Madison Square Park.
