A reader reports (and sends in a photo) that signage is up for Tappo, a new pizzeria serving up thin crust pizza on 24th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue (a couple doors down from the restaurant Nuela).

Word is that Tappo is by the same people that brought New York City Gruppo (186 Avenue B), Posto (310 2nd Avenue), and Vezzo (178 Lexington Avenue), all thin crust pizzerias with hundreds of 4 star Yelp reviews for each restaurant.

No word yet on an open date but the ‘plywood just came down from the windows’.

If you are looking for pizza in the Flatiron neighborhood, you will have no trouble finding some of the best these days with Grimaldis (now open), Patsys, Waldys, Le Pizza Fresca, Eataly Le Pizza, and Zero Otto (coming soon) all in the area, and the addition of Tappo.
