The Caulfield bar and restaurant at 119 East 27th Street (between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue) has closed down, without warning. Their twitter and facebook pages don’t mention it, and the windows are covered up at the bar, plus the phone number is disconnected.

The Caulfield had only been open since November 2011, and featured a full bar, plus a Mexican menu which seemed to depart from the Catcher in the Rye namesake. It was apparently owned by the guys behind the Vig Bar, the Volstead, and Choza Taquería.

Anyone have info on what happened?
