Whether it’s officially Houston’s (on the marquis) or Hillstone (on the glass and the menu) it still remains unclear, but when you are looking for some tasty comfort food, it delivers. It may not be the fine dining experience of many of the Flatiron’s great restaurants, but the focus here is on food your are going to enjoy in a nice space.

For starters, Hillstone (378 Park Avenue South at 27th Street) is famous for the “Rockfeller” warm spinach and artichoke dip ($14) which is hard to pass up. But the grilled artichokes ($14) are also quite good as well if you want to ditch some calories.

For entrees, try the house-made veggie burger with Worcestershire and melted Jack ($17). It is as filling as a regular burger and unlike a lot of veggie burgers, the texture is almost like ground beef. [yelpprofile method=”business” id=”hillstone-new-york” align=right]

The BBQ pork ribs are another hit, falling right off the bone with a nice glaze.

Here is the full Hillstone menu.
