After 14 years in the neighborhood, Veritas restaurant has closed in the Flatiron (43 East 20th Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South) due to “landlord issues” reports Eater. The restaurant was known for their extensive wine list and their New American food, getting 3 stars by the New York Times, and ranked as the 62nd best restaurant in NYC by Adam Platt of Grubstreet. They closed briefly in 2010 and re-opened with a more affordable (yet still quite expensive) menu, with chef Sam Hazen at the helm.

Their social media accounts seem notably absent of any mention of the close, suggesting it was a bit sudden.

It is unclear if they will re-open Veritas in another location as well as what will go into the prime Flatiron space that they are leaving.
