(The 2011 Tree)

It’s time for the annual Madison Square Park tree lighting event, tonight (Tuesday, December 10th) in Madison Square Park. It’s free for all.

Currently hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy, a tree lighting ceremony in Madison Square Park started in 1912 and was one of the first public tree lightings in the United States.

It starts at 3:30pm with music from The New York Life Singers, Audra Rox, treats from Hill Country Pie Kitchen, Hill Country Chicken and SD26 Restaurant & Wine Bar, as well as a holiday planting and crafts, courtesy of the Conservancy.

Then the lighting happens at 5pm.
