The annual NYC Pride Parade march is happening again today (Sunday) and starts at 36th Street & 5th Avenue at 12 noon today, runs down 5th Avenue adjacent to Madison Square Park and through the Flatiron and ends at Christopher & Greenwich Streets.
The Grand Marshalls this year are Laverne Cox, Rea Carey and Jonathan Groff. Get more info at www.nycpride.org/events/the-march.
Note that 5th Avenue is closed throughout the parade route and the crowds get thick by noon. It can also be quite difficult to cross the street, so look for designated crossing areas.
This is one of the biggest and liveliest parades in New York City with lots of floats, music, dancing, and more. They have even been lighting up the Empire State Building in rainbow colors at night – look up and check it out.
