The parades continue and today (Saturday, April 21) the New York City Sikh Day Parade will run from Madison Avenue & 36th Street, going to Madison Avenue & 26th Street, with a post parade event in Madison Square Park. The parade starts at 11:30am  and goes until 3:30pm.

From their website, “Everyone is welcome and all are encouraged to attend” and “free vegetarian food and non-alcoholic drinks for every one, spectators included”.

Sikhism is actually considered between the 5th-7th largest religions in the world and while often mis-categorized, is neither Muslim nor Hindu.
