Word is in that the boutique Flatiron Hotel (1141 Broadway at 26th Street) is finished and ready for occupancy…except that it is also on the market for a quick sale. It was just completed, features 64 rooms, a lobby with a 20,000 gallon aquarium, space for a restaurant, and has a 200 square foot rooftop ready for a lounge. Originally it appeared to be a Meyer Jabara hotel.

The rooms are being delivered turnkey with jacuzzi bath or Swiss rainfall showers, surround sound entertainment systems, LCD tvs,  marble bathrooms, and the hotel is said to be ready to open within 30 days of closing.

You will recall there was big noise when the massive lobby fish tank was first revealed. The hotel will be the latest addition to the neighborhood, following the Ace Hotel (Broadway and 29th). the MAVe Hotel (27th and Madison), and the re-branded Fashion 26 (152 West 26th Street), with the Nomad Hotel coming soon.

The hotel is being marketed by Berkley Acquisitions.
