NoMad hotel 071609Following the recent openings of both the Ace Hotel and the MAve Hotel, another north-of-Madison-Square-Park boutique hotel, the NoMad, is slated to open in early 2010. The NoMad takes over a beautiful 1903 ‘French Renaissance” style building, with 160 luxurious rooms and interiors to be designed by Jacques Garcia.

Although the corridor along Broadway between 27th and 30th has been dominated by an import/export, cheap wholesale trade for the last two decades (post flower district), the turn of last century architecture along these blocks is stunning, and restoration properties such as the NoMad and the Ace will help give new life to what are some great buildings. The legendary Tin Pan Alley actually encompassed the block of 28th on which the hotel will sit.

According to the website for the hotel (http://www.thenomadhotel.com), the property will also feature a ‘first-class restaurant’.
