We get word from Gallerist that the President of the Madison Square Park Conservancy, Debbie Landau, will move on from that role after 12 years. Landau co-founded the Madison Square Park Conservancy (with Danny Meyer), the not-for-profit organization which is in charge of maintenance, security, and music and art programs in the park.
Starting with a complete renovation in 2001, the Conservancy helped restore the park’s natural beauty that had not been seen in decades. It is now a safe, beautiful park with free music concerts, kid’s cultural programs, and an outdoor public art program that is considered one of the best in the world.
Landau will reportedly go on to advise artists on public art projects.
