It seems a new park space going in outside of the New York, New York Hotel in Las Vegas got its inspiration from our very own Madison Square Park, according to AP. It will be built by MGM Resorts International for $100 million over the next 18 months and will even include a Shake Shack (makes sense) and a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge (?). I think they could use a bit of lawn and maybe some art projects or a dog run to start to look like Madison Square Park, but regardless, it’s nice to know people have singled out Madison Square Park as a model.
MGM CEO Jim Murren said he was “inspired by New York City’s small and cosmopolitan Madison Square Park, as opposed to the more sprawling Central Park”, according to the article.
Business Insider got a rendering of the proposed park (photo above right).
