After 21 years in business it’s the end of an era – Known for its casual atmosphere and free drink name nights, No Idea bar (30 East 20th Street between Park Ave South and Broadway) in the Flatiron will close permanently on November 1st.

The owners will be opening up a new bar and they are getting ahead of any snobby critics and Yelpers, by preemptively calling the place one star. It will be located at 147 West 24th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenue) and sources tell us November 6th is opening night.

And yes they will have a Name Night, BUT it is no longer free. One star will charge the beholder of that night’s name $1 for the night to drink One Star Ale or Lite, house mixed drinks, or wine.
