milk and honey map‘Speakeasy’ and cocktail mecca Milk & Honey is now open in the Flatiron (30 East 23rd Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South) just southeast of Madison Square Park area. Known for their impeccable cocktails, the original Milk & Honey on the Lower East Side was reservation-only, with a semi-secret number, no menu, and had no sign out front. There were even rules of behavior.

Interestingly, owner Sasha Petraske told the Times that all of that word-of-mouth coolness was originally simply to keep the peace with residents who were told ‘no one would ever know there was a bar there’, in order to get the ok to run the bar.

From what we hear you may be able to walk in to the new location (there is apparently no sign, only a number 30 on a nondescript door), but do yourself a favor and request a reservation reservationsny@mlkhny.com (or MilkAndHoneyReservations@gmail.com).
