Devi turned Baluchi’s re-opens as… Devi

Last month we told you that high-end Indian restaurant Devi (8 East 18th Street between 5th and Broadway) had closed and a Baluchis opened in its place. We even verified it ourselves and photographed the new Baluchi’s flag out front.

Well, it seems that they ditched that idea and re-opened the space as Devi, with one big difference from the prior Devi. This time around it won’t have celebrity chef Suvir Saran heading the kitchen.

Zagat’s reports that Dheeraj Tomar, who was also a chef in the former Devi incarnation, will be the head chef this time around.
