Jay-Z & Beyonce to host benefit for President Obama at 40/40 club

Page 6 says that Jay-Z & Beyonce will be hosting President Obama right here in the neighborhood at the 40/40 club (6 West 25th Street at Broadway) on Tuesday September 18th. But before you drop on by to catch the President and a game on the big screen…it’s rumored to be a $40,000 a person benefit for 100 guests.

NBA Finals viewing in the Madison Square Park and Flatiron neighborhoods

Tonight at 9pm is the next and potentially last game of the NBA finals. A quick recap for those who are not paying attention. The Finals pits The Miami Heat’s Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh up against Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. It’s currently 3 wins (Miami) to 1 (OKC) in the best of 7 series. It could all be over tonight. Will Lebron win his first NBA title tonight and silence the critics? Will the dynamic guard duo of Durant and Westbrook (and Harden) use their unlimited energy and relentlessness to get a win and send the series back to Oklahoma City? It all starts at 9pm tonight.

Here are some spots to watch in the Madison Square Park and Flatiron areas:

Bounce Sporting Club (55 West 21st Street between 5th and 6th Avenue): It features 4000 square feet of space to watch 30 HD TVs for game watching. They also have a full bar with drinks from mixologist Charlotte Voisey, and restaurant menu with gourmet burgers, sliders, wings, and more.
Chelsea Manor (138 West 25th Street between 6th an 7th Avenue): 84 inch projection plus 13 Plasma tvs, full dinner and bar menu and happy hour specials.
Dewey’s Flatiron (210 5th Avenue at 25th Street): 17 HDTVs, 24 beers on tap and a full menu of food.

Slate (54 West 21st Street): Modern pool hall with dozens of TVs.

NCAA Men’s basketball final tonight at Flatiron sports bars and restaurants
