		<description><![CDATA[Friday night's Artists for Haiti dinner at Almond restaurant right here in the Flatiron (12 East 22nd street between Broadway and Park) was packed with celebs and included a related auction which raised $13.7 million and set world records for four artists according to http://artistsforhaiti.com/auction including Adel Abdessemed ($350,000), Glenn Ligon ($450,000), Nate Lowman ($140,000), and Raymond Pettibon ($820,000). "The auction included 27 works by 26 of today’s most prominent artists, many of which were created specifically for this cause", with works also by Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Dan Flavin, Neo Rauch, Urs Fischer, and Cecily Brown.

Almost every choice somehow has pomegranate involved, from the Oysters with pomegranate proseco granit to the ricotta crostini with pomegranate molasses, to the king salmon with pomegranate gastrique, to the sticky toffee cake with pomegranate gelee.
