Best spot for brunch in the Flatiron

Mailing list members already got a sneak peak at the winners of this year’s Best Food in the Neighborhood Awards, but for everyone else, we will announce one winner every day at 4pm. Remember, these awards are based on total votes by readers and are not chosen by MadParkNews.

First up is Best spot for brunch.

The winner this year is the Breslin (20 west 29th street at at the Ace Hotel) with favorites like the Pumpkin Pancakes, Lamb Burger, Steak & Eggs, and Grilled Cheese with an egg. Here is the Breslin brunch menu.

Coming in second was Almond, and third was a tie between Penelope and Friend of a Farmer. Congratulations to all of these superb brunch spots! You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Dining in the dark at the Breslin Restaurant in the Ace Hotel

This coming September 22nd-25th, The Breslin Restaurant (20 west 29th street between 5th Avenue and Broadway) at the Ace Hotel is turning out the lights each night for guests to try dining in the dark.

Diners will be served a 3-course menu in total darkness, so you can rely on your other senses to perceive as you eat your food. We can only imagine your sense of smell goes into overdrive in such a situation.

To save your spot call the Breslin at 212-679-1939.

The Breslin named Best Breakfast by New York Magazine

[breslin skirt steak eggs] The Breslin Restaurant (16 West 29th Street @ the Ace Hotel) was just named “Best Breakfast” for 2010 by New York Magazine.

Personally we love the Skirt Steak & Eggs (pictured left) as well as the Peanut & Banana ‘sandwich’ with bourbon and vanilla.
