Best spot for brunch in the Flatiron

Mailing list members already got a sneak peak at the winners of this year’s Best Food in the Neighborhood Awards, but for everyone else, we will announce one winner every day at 4pm. Remember, these awards are based on total votes by readers and are not chosen by MadParkNews.

First up is Best spot for brunch.

The winner this year is the Breslin (20 west 29th street at at the Ace Hotel) with favorites like the Pumpkin Pancakes, Lamb Burger, Steak & Eggs, and Grilled Cheese with an egg. Here is the Breslin brunch menu.

Coming in second was Almond, and third was a tie between Penelope and Friend of a Farmer. Congratulations to all of these superb brunch spots! You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Read full review and see PHOTOS Went back to Almond Restaurant on 22nd Street for brunch today, mostly to try one of their signature dishes, the Almond Hash. The Almond hash, pictured above right, features a poached egg over a mix of potatoes, roasted onions, duck confit and duck cracklins ($15). It’s an excellent combination of savory flavors and the poached egg is perfectly cooked to mix with everything upon the first bite.
