(Read Full Review and see photos at Markt Review) Markt restaurant (676 6th Avenue) moved from the Meatpacking district to its current Flatiron/Chelsea location a few years back, and now keeps busy with a combination of regulars from the old location and new neighborhood converts. The Belgian bistro features an assortment of omelets and waffles for brunch, croissants and pain au chocolat, as well as French press coffee and traditional fare such as mussels and croque madame/monsieurs.

The Almond hash, pictured above right, features a poached egg over a mix of potatoes, roasted onions, duck confit and duck cracklins ($15). It’s an excellent combination of savory flavors and the poached egg is perfectly cooked to mix with everything upon the first bite.
