Tonight Madison Square Reads presents Dog Night with Rachel McPherson

This evening is the last of the Madison Square Reads series, so come by for tonight’s topic DOG DAYS OF SUMMER.

Dog night features author Rachel McPherson (Every Dog Has a Gift: True Stories of Dogs Who Bring Hope & Healing Into Our Lives) at 6:30 near the Farragut Monument in Madison Square Park.

It’s free (bring your dogs if you want – it’s outside).

Madison Square Reads discusses Donald Barthelme tonight

As part of Madison Square Reads, this evening at 6:30pm the National Book Foundation and a panel of writers will discuss author Donald Barthelme.

The panel discussion includes writers Emily Barton (Brookland, The Testament of Yves Gundron), Tracy Daugherty (Hiding Man: A Biography of Donald Barthelme), Stacey D’Erasmo (Tea, A Seahorse Year) and David Gates (The Wonders of the Invisible World). The event takes place near the Farragut Monument in Madison Square Park and is free.

Readings are every Thursday, July 1st through August 5th.

Tonight, author Craig Nelson reads from ‘Rocket Men: The Epic Story of the First Men on the Moon’

As part of Madison Square Reads, author Craig Nelson reads in Madison Square Park from his book ‘Rocket Men: The Epic Story of the First Men on the Moon’.

The reading takes place near the Farragut Monument in Madison Square Park and is free, starts at 6:30pm, and ends with a “Q&A session and book signing”.

Readings are every Thursday, July 1st through August 5th.

Jane and Dave Isay kick of Madison Square Reads tonight

Madison Square Reads starts tonight with authors (and mother /son) Jane and Dave Isay. Dave reads from MOM: A celebration of Mothers from StoryCorps and Jane reads from Mom Still Likes You Best: The Unfinished Business Between Siblings.

The reading starts at 6:30pm at the foot of Farragut Monument in Madison Square Park.
